The United Nations General Assembly High Level Meeting (HLM) on HIV/AIDS held in New York, 8 to 10 June 2011, took stock of progress and challenges in the AIDS response since the 2001 UN Special Session on HIV/AIDS (UNGASS) and the 2006 HIV/AIDS Political Declaration where UN member states committed to moving towards universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support.
